Psychedelic

I always wonder what it would be like to get inside Eric’s head one day and experience his thoughts and ideas. There’s still a lot we don’t know about Autism, but I can only assume that there’s something in the brain that triggers these seemingly odd fascinations and creativity.

I started wondering more and more about this when I noticed that Eric was always altering the colors on the television, the computer, and his iPad. He would change the tints to make the screen red, green, etc., and even started turning on the “negative” effect on his iPad and the computer.

For me, it was so distracting and I couldn’t even look at the screens for too long without my eyes starting to hurt. Eric, on the other hand, would watch entire movies with the screen this way.

I guess he just finds these strange color settings to be psychedelic.  Let's just say it's better that he chooses to change television and computer screens to get that effect as opposed to alternative methods.

  1. I imagine he may see a completely different image on the screen than you - or most people. Makes me think of synesthesia (http://faculty.washington.edu/chudler/syne.html)and how fascinating the human mind is.
